Silver Bell - Kissing Couple

Q. I want to get Christmas ornament size Silver Wedding Bell Favors and use deep red ribbon to hang them on a Christmas tree as our wedding favors good idea, or not so much? Our wedding colors are red and silver. And the date is Dec. 16, 07.

A. That sounds like a great idea. Any way you can personalize the ribbon so guests can remember where that ornament came from years down the road? Perhaps silver embossing on the red ribbon.

  5. Very creative idea. I like it and it is really cute. Try adding a note to the bells and string with your wedding info on it and a Thank you or something on the other side. Congrats.

  6. These are typically sold as favors for that "ring for a kiss" thing. If you're not on board with that you may want to re-think it. But, I don't think this is tacky at all. I suppose you should consider guests who do not celebrate Christmas though.

  7. I think that your guests will really like the idea. Go with it! It is your wedding, who cares what everyone else thinks! Congratulations on your engagement and good luck!

  8. Cute, but Damn Noisy. a friend of mine incorporated those bells in her wedding and that's ALL you heard the entire reception. people were being immature asses and just would NOT LET UP with ringing those damn bells– it was extremely irritating, and ruined the video sound too.

Maybe, don't have people take the bell favors until they are departing.

  9. Actually I think that's a really special idea. You might, if you can afford it, have your wedding date and names engraved on them.

  10. Yes, and I like what someone else said about ring for a kiss. And have the date or you twos intials on there, so they can remember who it was from.

  11. Dear, your wedding is OVER A YEAR AWAY, and frankly, I wouldn't worry about this aspect of it at this point in time. And it's "ornament." Get what you want and don't worry so much about this inconsequential stuff, as no one remembers it anyway. You sound VERY YOUNG! The VERY YOUNG always worry about this little stuff that means nothing, and forget about the bigger picture. That is probably one reason the divorce rate is so high today among the young.

  12. I think that is wonderful! It would be nice if the bells or ribbon was engraved with you and your new husband's name and date of the wedding as a memento to remember the two of you for all time!!!

  13. Firstly, just ignore Kittyrogers, she answers all wedding related questions in the same manner - I think she is a lonely, bitter thing….

Secondly - I think this is a TERRIFIC idea - it is inexpensive, yet seasonal and best of all, different. What a lovely way to combine Christmas with a wedding.

(I'm getting married in March next year and am still trying to decide on favors…if it was closer to Xmas, I would have stolen your idea - it's great)!

  14. I think that is a great gift. If I received this as a favor, I would take it home and put it on MY tree and then every year I would think of the two of you.

    Congratulations!
